If you enjoy eBooks, eAudiobooks, or magazines through Libby, you can set notifications to let you know when content you are interested in becomes available. You can select push notifications using the Libby app from iOS or Android, but that option is unavailable on Fire tablets. For those who use Fire tablets or an internet browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.) to enjoy Libby (or those who don’t want push notifications), email can be set as an avenue for notifications.
Managing Push or Email Notifications
- Tap the menu icon
in the bottom menu - Go to Settings > Manage Notifications
- Choose how to be notified for each type of event:
OR 
- Ignore (no notification)
- Menu Badge (indicator on the menu icon in the app)
- Notification (push notification through your device)/Email Notice (if you are not using a device with push notification available)
Please note that notifications must be enabled for the Libby app in order to receive push notifications through your device. This is enabled by default. If you prefer email notifications despite using the app to enjoy content, you must disable push notifications in the Libby app.
- Disable notifications in iOS: Go to (device) Settings > Notifications, then tap Siri Suggestions. Turn off the Libby app.
- Disable notifications in Android: Go to (device) Settings > Notifications > App notifications. Turn off the Libby app.
Email Notifications
To opt for email notifications when using the app, you must turn off app notifications as specified above. To use email notices, you must specify an email address to receive them. If you have not specified one, scroll to the bottom of the Manage Notifications page and select “fix this” next to the email note:
If you’re not receiving notices, troubleshoot by toggling a notification event to ignore, then back to notification/email notice.
If you need to change the email address for receiving notifications, go to Menu > Settings > Manage notifications. Next to the email notices setting at the bottom of the page, select Change this.
