Our New Event Calendar Is Live!

We’re launching a new event calendar and room reservation software today, and we’re excited to share it with you! If you bookmarked our calendar at colonielibrary.libcal.com, be sure to update that to https://events.colonielibrary.org. Here is a screenshot of the new calendar:

  • Library Website brings you to the home page of our main website (colonielibrary.org), as does clicking on our logo in the upper-left corner.
  • Events Calendar brings you to the calendar view in the screenshot above
  • Reserve a Room leads to our online room reservation portal. Use this to book time in a presentation room or the Board Room.

Filters

Filters are provided on the left side of the page (or at the top on a mobile device) to help you narrow your search.

  • The use of filters is not required to see calendar events.
  • If you click to the next month or change the view, the applied filters stay in effect until you select “Reset” at the bottom of the filter section.
  • Use the Keyword Search to search the current month. After entering a term, click “Apply” to search.
  • Check an Age Group (or groups) and “Apply” to see only events for that age group.
  • Click on Program Type (or types) and “Apply” to narrow your search by type of event. Some examples include Arts & Crafts, Books & Writing, and Language Learning.
  • Use Registration Type to separate events by whether registration is required to attend.
  • To remove filters previously applied, select “Reset.”

Calendar Views

The default view for the calendar is set to month, but additional views are available using the blue buttons on the top right of the calendar.

When filling out the form, keep in mind that messages about class changes, including cancellations, will only be sent via email. If you do not enter a valid email address, you will not receive notifications.

Communications about the class will be sent to the email of the person who registered the others on their form. All fields marked with a red asterisk * are required.

Some event registration forms may ask if you have a library card, but library cards are not required for registration. If you don’t have a library card, answer no and move on to the next question.

When finished, click the blue “Submit” button.

Commonly Asked Questions

What If I Signed Up for an Event or Reserved a Room in the Old Calendar?

Rest assured, the staff worked hard to make sure registration lists and reservations were preserved. There shouldn’t be many events that were live on both calendars, but if you are concerned about whether your registration was preserved, or you do not see your reservation on the calendar, email info@colonielibrary.org and we’d be happy to check for you.
