How often has someone shared a YouTube link to a video you’d love to watch – just not at that moment? Maybe you’re at work, or maybe the video is longer than you have time for before you move on to your next activity. Perhaps you watched the video and want to be able to go back and watch it without bookmarking it in your browser. Whatever the reason, you’ll be glad to know that YouTube allows you to save videos to watch later and organize them into playlists.
Step-By-Step
First off, you’ll need to log in to YouTube to save videos. If you have never logged into YouTube before, use your Google Account credentials. If you don’t have a Google Account, you will be prompted to create one the first time you try to sign in.
Saving a Video Using an Internet Browser
Now that you’re logged in, navigate to the video you would like to save. Click the three-dot menu icon below the video’s title, then select Save (underlined):

Next, check the watch later box or create a new playlist to which to add the video.
To go back and watch videos later, click on the YouTube icon in the upper-left to return to your logged-in home page. Select Watch Later (or other playlist) from the “You” section in the left menu:

Saving a Video Using the YouTube App
The process is the same using the app, but the Save button is a bit more hidden. The first image shows the default view, where there does not appear to be a three-dot menu or a save button in the list of options below the video. But, if you put your finger on the list of options and swipe to the left, more options (including Save) appear.

After adding the video to Watch Later (or another playlist), you can find it again by tapping the “You” icon at the bottom of the screen:

On the next screen, go to the playlist section and scroll left/right to access Watch Later and your other playlists.
