Previously, I had written about the special font available in Libby to make reading e-books easier for people with dyslexia. As it turns out, there a several accessibility features available in the Libby app. Let’s take a look.
App-Wide
To improve the accessibility of the app as a whole, use the Accessibility Features Menu. To get there in the app, click on the menu button
>settings>accessibility features. From this menu, you can adjust colors and text size, as well as turn off vibration and reduce motion from animations. If you’re using Libby with a keyboard, you can type a question mark (shift-/) to access quick navigation options (keyboard shortcuts).
For the record, Libby works with screen readers like NVDA and VoiceOver. For more information, check out this help article about using screen readers with Libby.
E-book Accessibility
When enjoying a e-book with Libby, you can change the font (see this previous article), text size, lighting, and more. With the e-book open, tap in the center of the screen to open the menus. Then tap the A near the top of the screen.
To change the text size, use the text scale slider. If the print isn’t large enough with the slider all the way to the right, toggle on “include accessibility sizes.” To maximize a book’s contrast, select “bright” in the lighting settings area. At the bottom of the menu, under “book design,” the font can be customized. Select a font or select custom to access granular settings.

For more shortcuts available in the e-book and e-audiobook modes, check out this Libby help article.
Keyboard Shortcuts
When using Libby on a device with a keyboard, you can use key combinations for navigation and settings. Here’s what’s available:
