If you thought the Libby app was only available in English, you wouldn’t be alone. As it turns out, Libby supports several languages. By default, Libby uses the language your phone is set to, provided it is on the list of supported languages. If you would like to use Libby in a different language, go to Menu (three lines at the bottom of the screen)>Settings>Choose Your Language.
If you’re just getting started with Libby, check out this Getting Started with Libby page. To view in a language other than English, click this dropdown menu at the top of the page:

Search for Items in Other Languages
If you would like to search for items only in a particular language, you can pin a language filter to your search. To do that:
- Tap either the Library or Search icon at the bottom of the page:

- Tap the filter icon at the top left of the screen
- Under “Language” select the language(s) you want, the tap “show titles”
- Tap the language filter, then tap “Pin Filter”

New Language Prompt
If you attempt to place a hold on, check out, or add a notify me tag to a title in a language other than the one your app is set for, a prompt will come up to confirm that you want to read a title in the selected language. To confirm, tap “Yes, I Can Read It.” To find the title in another language, tap “Help Me Find Another.”

This should help to reduce confusion and disappointment if folks don’t notice what language the book is when browsing.
Summary
The Libby app supports several languages, and the user can change the language as needed. Downloadable titles are offered in several languages, and the user can pin filters to always search for items in those languages. If an item is chosen that is in a language different than the phone, the user can confirm before downloading, placing a hold, or setting a “notify me” tag.
