How to Browse by Format in the Online Catalog

Our online catalog is great if you know an author, title, or subject you are interested in. A quick keyword search gets you on your way. But what if you want to browse all of our Wonderbook (audio-enabled book) titles for something that catches your eye? Typing Wonderbook might get you all of the results, or it may leave some out. Using the advanced search feature in the Encore catalog will get us what we need.

Browsing by Format

The first step is to open the catalog at https://catalog.uhls.org. No login is necessary. Look for the “advanced search” link under the keyword search box:

The advanced search screen has several options, but to limit to Wonderbooks, we are interested in the Format field. I used the dropdown menu to select “audio-enabled book.”

Next, go to a keyword field above and enter an asterisk (*)

Click on Search to see results.

To narrow your selection to a single library, select it from the Collection list on the left (click more to see Colonie).
