There are many great graphic design programs available, both free and paid. But what if you want to create an image without learning a new editing platform? Or, maybe you want to make a YouTube thumbnail image that is the perfect size for uploading? If you are a person who uses Microsoft PowerPoint or Google Slides, you are in luck!
The basic steps in PowerPoint are:
- Create a slide in PowerPoint/G-Slides
- Select it
- Click File in the top menu, then Save as
- Change the file type to jpg or png
- Save
- It will ask whether you want to convert all the slides – select “just this one”

The basic steps in Slides are:
- Select the slide from the list on the left
- Select File, then Download
- Choose jpg or png
- Tell it where to save

It is just that simple! To see a video showing this process, check out the Tech-Talk.com article about saving slideshow images.
